Turkey’s annual exports foreseen to reach $91.7 billion.

Considering the import and export data of the first six months, sector experts foresee Turkey’s annual exports to reach $91.7 billion. Positive developments in the global economy may even help push Turkey’s annual exports closer to $100 billion. Annual imports are expected to reach $118.9 billion. If the predictions are accurate, the country’s foreign trade deficit may decline to the lowest figures since 2005.

Turkey’s exports will certainly not reach the high water mark set in 2007. In addition to its traditional export markets in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Turkey has mounted fresh efforts this year to open new trade channels with Africa and Latin America.
