Turkish PM to visit Brazil as UN mulls Iran sanctions

Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan will make a three-day visit to Brazil from next Wednesday, during which he will see Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Erdoğan and Lula this week struck a deal with Iran over its nuclear enrichment program they thought would defuse a push by the United States to impose fresh sanctions on Tehran in the U.N. Security Council.

Turkey and Brazil, two non-permanent members of the U.N. Security Council hold out against new sanctions on Iran. Diplomatic sources say that Turkish PM Erdogan is going to meet Brazilian President da Silva to discuss different aspects of this situation
