Two supply lines approved in Nabucco pipeline project

During their latest meeting in Ankara, shareholders of the Nabucco project approved the construction of two supply lines extending to Georgia and Iraq, officials said in a written statement released on August 23.  The route planned for the new supply lines will provide alternative supply resources for the Nabucco pipeline which will receive gas from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Iraq.

The Nabucco Project aims to increase gas supplies for Europe while reducing Europe’s dependence on Russian gas.
