Turkey will determine its own foreign policy, Turkish premier says

Speaking at the Turkish-Arab Relations Conference on Jan 11 in Kuwait, Erdoğan said that Turkey would determined its own foreign policy agenda and would not allow other actors to influence its foreign policy decision making. At the conference, Erdogan discussed at length the shared history and culture of Arabs and Turks, Turkey’s critics, and the goal to bring peace and prosperity to the region.

Prime Minister Erdogan seeks to strengthen further the ties between Turkey and the Arab world. This speech is virtually certain to be a reference point by supporters and critics alike in the continuing debate about the goals of Turkey’s ambitious foreign policy.
